Volker Elis

Volker Elis is an economist and geographer, and taught at the Universities of Bonn and Dusseldorf. Since 2006 he is working as a senior research fellow at the DIJ. In his two main projects he is doing research on the impact of demographic change on rural municipalities and the topic of employment of the elderly in Japan. His main research interests are regional policy and regional planning, labor and employment economics, and Japan᾿s modern economic history.
