German-Japanese Relations Section

Staff

The German–Japanese relations section does research on the German-Japanese relations and is dealing with comparative problems concerning primarily Japan and Germany. The section has launched a new Japan-related and multidisciplinary scientific publication series under the title Japan and Europe. Historical Relations and Comparative Studies 日欧交流史・比較研究. It focuses on the German-Japanese relations and the European-Japanese relations respectively in history and presence and on comparative studies. Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research, Beziehungsforschung (research on the history of international/diplomatic relations) and Einflußforschung (research on the foreign influence of domestic developments) as well as comparative research are on an equal footing and can also be dealt with in an integrated way.
