Jonah Gamarra

Jonah Gamarra is a Master’s student at the University Bremen with a focus on welfare state research. Due to their different approaches, Japan and other East Asian countries stand out as an intriguing opportunity for a comparison with European welfare systems. At the DIJ, Jonah Gamarra supports Sebastian Polak-Rottmann in his research on the anthropology of resilience of local communities in Japan. Through this internship, he seeks to deepen his understanding of Japanese local communities and Japanese institutional development.
