Michael Becker

Michael Becker studies History for a master’s degree at the University of Mannheim. In preparation for his final thesis, which will form a comparison of the scientific and public discourses of history in Germany and Japan, he is mainly working with Torsten Weber in the field of “Modern East Asian History”.

Current projects during the internship include the online blog for the research project “John Rabe’s Nanjing Diaries – Testifying and Contesting War Experiences in China and Japan” as well as updating the Clio research guide for Japanese history.
