Wen-Wei Lan

Wen-Wei Lan, a Ph.D. candidate affiliated with the Japan Center of the University of Munich, is dedicated to her research in the historical dimensions of education, gender dynamics, and disseminating knowledge within the context of modern Japanese history. Her doctoral research centers on the subjects of education and the overseas experiences of Japanese female doctors during the Meiji era. Before her enrollment at LMU, she earned her BA in Japanese Language and Culture from Soochow University (Taipei, Taiwan) and completed her MA in Japanese Studies at National Taiwan University (NTU). She has also contributed as a research assistant fellow at Academia Sinica and NTU. Wen-Wei is currently conducting fieldwork for her doctoral project at the German Institute for Japanese Studies. Her main project at the DIJ focuses on transferring medical knowledge between Germany and Japan.
