Structural Changes in the Japanese Technology and Innovation Sysem in the 90s

Japan verzeichnet seit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg eine dynamische Wirtschaftsentwicklung und hat in seiner ökonomischen Leistungskraft inzwischen mit den westlichen Industrienationen gleichgezogen. Eine Triebfeder dieses Wachstums war der technische Fortschritt. Japan ist es gelungen, die technologische Lücke zu schließen.


Im Juni und Juli 1996 organisierte der Arbeitskreis „Forschung und Technologie“ eine Serie von Workshops, in denen verschiedene diesbezügliche Fragestellungen diskutiert wurden. Ein Hauptziel lag darin, japanische und nicht-japanische Experten aus verschiedenen Institutionen zusammenzuführen um einen umfangreichen Informations- und Meinungsaustauch zu ermöglichen.
